Allahumma Inni Auzu Bika Min Zawal

The Prophet (SAW) sought refuge in Allah from four things:

Firstly, he asked Allah to protect him from losing His blessings, like our faith, health, or wealth. This can happen if we’re ungrateful or don’t show appreciation for what we have.

Secondly, he sought refuge from losing Allah’s favor of well-being. When Allah grants us well-being, we’re able to achieve goodness in both this life and the afterlife.

But if we lose this favor, we’ll face evil and hardship in both worlds. Well-being is crucial for living a good life and achieving our goals in both worlds.

Thirdly, sudden punishment or retribution, which comes without warning and can’t be stopped or helped by anyone, no matter how hard they try.

Fourthly, Allah’s displeasure, which can lead to destruction and defeat, even if it’s due to a small thing. The Prophet (SAW) asked Allah to protect him from any form of displeasure, no matter how small, because even a little displeasure can have big consequences.

By seeking refuge in Allah, the Prophet (SAW) showed us that we should always be mindful of our actions and seek Allah’s protection from harm and punishment.
