Wisdom of the Morning Prayer

Sheikh ibn Uthaimeen explained: When the Prophet (peace be upon him) woke up from sleep, he would recite this dua, teaching us to:

  • Praise Allah for giving us life after “death” (sleep)
  • Remember our ultimate return to Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, after our final “death” (resurrection)

Reflect on:

  • Your “lesser death” (sleep) and “greater death” (resurrection)

  • The promise of another life, where we’ll stand before Allah, alive and accountable

Reciting this dua increases our faith in the resurrection, reminding us of Allah’s power and our ultimate return to Him.
