Dua For Children Protection in Arabic and Meaning

Dua For Children Protection

As parents, we want to keep our children safe from harm. One way to do this is by making a Dua for Children Protection, asking Allah to protect them from evil spirits (shaytan), poisonous creatures and the evil eye (envy).

Children are often vulnerable to envy, which can lead to illnesses and other problems. To keep them safe, we need to take care of their physical and spiritual well-being. Making dua for their protection is an important part of this care.

Dua Children Protection

Hadith For Dua For Children Protection

Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to seek Refuge with Allah for Al-Hasan and Al-Husain and say:

“Your forefather (i.e. Abraham) used to seek Refuge with Allah for Ishmael and Isaac by reciting the following: ‘O Allah! I seek Refuge with Your Perfect Words from every devil and from poisonous pests and from every evil, harmful, envious eye.’ “

[Sahih al-Bukhari 3371]

Abul Ulaa Abdur-Rahmaan al-Mubarakfooree (may Allah have mercy on him) explained the meaning of a dua (prayer) that seeks refuge in Allah’s words. He said:

  • “Allah’s words” could refer to the Quran or Allah’s names.
  • “Perfect” means that Allah’s speech is flawless and beneficial, protecting us from harm and illnesses.
  • “Poisonous creature” includes any animal that can harm with poison, even if it’s not deadly.
  • “Evil eye” means protection from any harmful effects of envy or evil glances.

Other scholars, like Ibn Hajar and Shaykh Abdur-Razzaq al-Badr, added:

  • The dua is like seeking shelter from harm and holding onto Allah for protection.
  • “Allah’s words” likely refers to the Quran or divine decrees governing the universe.
  • “Perfect” means Allah’s words are complete, flawless, and superior to human speech.

This dua helps us seek refuge in Allah’s protection and perfection.

How to Seek Refuge from the Evil Eye for Children

By the Muhaddith, Shaykh, Allamaa’ Muhammad Nasir uddeen al-Albaani (رحمه الله)

Translated by Abbas Abu Yahya

Shaykh al-Albaani was asked over the phone:

  • Phone rings. Shaykh: yes!
  • Caller: Aslaamu alaykum.
  • Shaykh: Wa alaykum as-Salaam.
  • Caller: O Shaykh regarding ‘I seek refuge for you two with Allaah’s perfect words from every Shaytaan (devil) and poisonous creature and every evil eye.’ Is this said three consecutive times or just once?
  • Shaykh: No, it is mentioned once, however if it appears to the one saying this Dua’ that he needs to repeat it without specifying three times, then there is no problem with that.
  • Caller: and should he place his hand on the head of the one sought refuge for?
  • Shaykh: Yes, yes!
  • Caller: Even in congregation, if it is a group of children together, how can he place his hand upon all of them?
  • Shaykh: He should place his two hands on two of the children, then repeat this on the rest of the children.
  • Caller: Right hand and left hand, with both hands?
  • Shaykh: Yes, yes. Caller: Regarding the hadeeth that the Messenger (ﷺ)– would not sleep until he recited Soorah Mulk, al-Isra, Zumar, and Sajdah, is this when he lies down on his bed at night, or before he lies down? Shaykh: What is important is that he recites before he falls asleep, whether it is whilst he is sitting or lying then it is up to him’
