Subhanallahi Wa Bihamdihi Subhanallahil Azeem Meaning in English

Subhanallah Wa Bihamdihi Subhanallahil Azeem means Glory be to Allah and all praise is due to him, glory be to Allah the great.

Subhanallaahil-Azim means the Possessor of Greatness and Majesty. There is nothing greater than Allah in authority, or power, or wisdom or knowledge.

He is great in His essence and He is great in His attributes. “Subhanallaah wa bihamdihi Subhanallaah il-Azim”

Here is Arabic text of this beautiful zikr:

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ العَظِيم

It is important for one to repeat these statements frequently and persist in doing so because they are heavy on the scale, dear to the Merciful and light for the tongue to remember.

Subhanallah Wa Bihamdihi Subhanallahil Azeem Hadith

Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “There are two statements that are light for the tongue to remember, heavy in the Scales and are dear to the Merciful:

‘سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ الْعَظِيمِ – Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan-Allahil-Adheem [Allah is free from imperfection and all praise is due to Him, Allah is free from imperfection the Almighty]’.”

Hadith

Jabir (رضي الله عنه) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “For him who says: `سُبْحَانَ اللهِ الْعَظِيمِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ’- Subhan’Allahil adhim wa bihamdih (Allah is free from imperfection the Magnificent and all praise is due to Him),’ a palm-tree will be planted in Jannah.”

[A hasan (good) hadith reported by at-Tirmidhi (3464, 3465), Ibn Hibban (2335). Al-Mundhiri mentioned in At-Targheeb wat-Tarheeb (2/347) saying: ‘Reported by Al-Bazzar with a jayyid (good) chain of narration. It was classed as hasan by al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar in Nataij al-Afkar (1/104). See Sahih at-Tirmidhi of al-Albani (3711,3712) & al-Silsilah al-Saheehah (hadeeth no. 64)]
