The 87th chapter of the Quran, Surah Al-A’la (Sabbihisma Rabbikal Ala surah), comprises 19 verses and commences with a profound command: “Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High.” This surah emphasizes the vital importance of worshiping and acknowledging Allah’s supreme greatness.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

سَبِّحِ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡأَعۡلَى (1) ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ (2) وَٱلَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ (3) وَٱلَّذِيٓ أَخۡرَجَ ٱلۡمَرۡعَىٰ (4) فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحۡوَىٰ (5) سَنُقۡرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ (6) إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ وَمَا يَخۡفَىٰ (7) وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلۡيُسۡرَىٰ (8) فَذَكِّرۡ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ (9) سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخۡشَىٰ (10) وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلۡأَشۡقَى (11) ٱلَّذِي يَصۡلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ (12) ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحۡيَىٰ (13) قَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ (14) وَذَكَرَ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ (15) بَلۡ تُؤۡثِرُونَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا (16) وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ خَيۡرٞ وَأَبۡقَىٰٓ (17) إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ (18) صُحُفِ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ (19)

  1. Sabbihisma Rabbikal A’laa
  2. Allazee khalaqa fasawwaa
  3. Wallazee qaddara fahadaa
  4. Wallazeee akhrajal mar’aa
  5. Faja’alahoo ghusaaa’an ahwaa
  6. Sanuqri’uka falaa tansaaa
  7. Illaa maa shaaa’al laah; innahoo ya’lamul jahra wa maa yakhfaa
  8. Wa nu-yassiruka lilyusraa
  9. Fazakkir in nafa’atizzikraa
  10. Sa yazzakkaru maiyakhshaa
  11. Wa yatajannabuhal ashqaa
  12. Allazee yaslan Naaral kubraa
  13. Summa laa yamootu feehaa wa laa yahyaa
  14. Qad aflaha man tazakkaa
  15. Wa zakaras ma Rabbihee fasallaa
  16. Bal tu’siroonal hayaatad dunyaa
  17. Wal Aakhiratu khairunw wa abqaa
  18. Inna haazaa lafis suhu fil oolaa
  19. Suhufi Ibraaheema wa Moosaa.

Sabbihisma Rabbikal Ala Surah in English

  1. Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High,.
  2. Who created and fashioned in due proportion,.
  3. And Who made all things according to a measure, then guided them [as to how to function and yield the benefits for which they were created],
  4. And Who brings forth the pasturage.
  5. Then makes it wither after it was lush and green.
  6. We will teach you [the Qur’an], so you will not forget.
  7. Except what Allah wills, for indeed He knows what is openly known and what is hidden;
  8. And We will guide you to the easy path.
  9. So remind people, if the reminder will be of benefit.
  10. The one who fears Allah will pay heed.
  11. while the wretched one will avoid it,.
  12. The one who will enter the great fire,
  13. In which he will neither die nor live.
  14. He will indeed attain true success who purifies himself.
  15. And reflects upon the sublime names of his Lord, so he prays.
  16. But you [O humankind] prefer the life of this world.
  17. Even though the hereafter is better and more lasting.
  18. Verily this was in the earlier scriptures,.
  19. The scriptures of Ibraheem and Moosa.
