Iza Zulzilatil Surah in English, Arabic Text & Transliteration

Surah Az-Zalzalah (Iza zulzilatil surah) is the 99th chapter of the Quran. It’s also called “The Earthquake”. This surah talks about what will happen on the Day of Judgment.

It says that on that day, the earth will shake and everyone will have to answer for what they did in life. It’s a reminder to try to be good and do the right thing, because our actions will matter later.

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ الأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا (١) وَأَخْرَجَتِ الأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا (٢) وَقَالَ الإِنسَانُ مَا لَهَا (٣) يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا (٤) بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَى لَهَا (٥) يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ النَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا أَعْمَالَهُمْ (٦) فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ (٧) وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ (٨)

Izaa zul zilatil ardu zil zaalaha
Wa akh rajatil ardu athqaalaha
Wa qaalal insaanu ma laha
Yawmaa izin tuhad dithu akhbaaraha
Bi anna rabbaka awhaa laha
Yawma iziny yas durun naasu ash tatal liyuraw a’maalahum
Famaiy ya’mal mithqala zarratin khai raiy-yarah
Wa maiy-y’amal mithqala zarratin sharraiy-yarah.

Iza Zulzilatil Surah Translation in English

When the earth is shaken with a cataclysmic earthquake.
And the earth brings forth its burdens.
And man says: What is the matter with it?
On that day it will tell all its news.
Because your Lord will command it [to do so].
On that day all people will proceed in scattered groups to be shown [the results of] their deeds.
So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it.
And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.

This surah has 8 verses and was revealed in Makkah. It describes the scary events of Judgment Day, when everyone will face the consequences of their actions.

On that day:

A big earthquake will shake the earth many times
The earth will reveal its secrets and the dead will come back to life
All people, from Adam to the present, will be brought together
They will be shocked, confused, and amazed
The earth will speak about the good and bad things people did
People’s body parts will also testify against them
Every small action will be counted
People will be divided into groups, some happy and some sad
They will be sent to either Paradise or Hellfire

This surah warns us to be prepared for Judgment Day and to do good deeds to avoid punishment.

On Judgment Day, the earth will shake violently, causing mountains and structures to collapse. The earth will become a flat plain, and all the dead and treasures will be revealed.

People will be shocked, asking, “What happened to the earth?” The earth will then testify about the good and bad things people did on its surface. Allah will command the earth to speak, and it will obey.

On that day, people will be divided into groups, and Allah will show them the results of their actions. Those who did good will see their rewards, and those who did bad will face punishment. Even the smallest actions will be counted.

This verse encourages us to do good, no matter how small, and warns us against doing evil, no matter how minor. It reminds us that everything we do will be accounted for on Judgment Day.
