This dua is found in Surah Taha verse 25-35. Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) asked Allah with this supplication for a great and significant matter.
When Allah instructed Prophet Musa (AS) to invite the most stubborn people on earth to embrace faith, he faced a daunting task. These individuals were notorious for their:
- Deep-seated disbelief
- Cruel tyranny
- Vast armies
- False claims of divinity
Recognizing the enormity of this challenge, Prophet Musa (AS) turned to Allah for guidance and support. He made specific requests to aid his mission, demonstrating the power of supplication as a believer’s most potent weapon. Through prayer, one can:
- Attract divine goodness
- Repel evil and adversity
Prophet Musa’s (AS) example shows us the importance of seeking Allah’s help and guidance in our own lives, especially when facing seemingly insurmountable challenges.

Meaning: Our Lord! You have indeed bestowed on Fir‘aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs splendour and wealth in the life of this world, our Lord! that they may lead men astray from Your Path. Our Lord! Destroy their wealth, and harden their hearts, so that they will not believe until they see the painful torment.
Surah Yunus verse 88
In his anger for the sake of Allah and His religion, Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) prayed against Firawn (Pharaoh) and his chiefs. He supplicated against them when he realized they were beyond redemption, refusing to accept the truth and instead continuing to stray and exhibit arrogance.
The Quran records Prophet Musa’s prayer against Firawn and his leaders, highlighting his frustration and disappointment with their persistent disbelief and haughtiness. This prayer demonstrates Prophet Musa’s unwavering commitment to standing up for Allah’s truth, even in the face of formidable opposition.”
