Dua For Rizq

Rizq is an Arabic word that means “provision” or “sustenance”. It’s often thought of as money or wealth, but it’s more than that. In tough times, people look for prayers to improve their rizq. But, rizq isn’t just about getting more money. It can be:

  • Being healthy and not needing medical care
  • Feeling content with a small amount of food
  • Having a spouse who is happy with less material things

Rizq is about Allah blessing you with what you need, not just wealth. It’s important to remember that sustenance comes in many forms, not just money.

Good provision includes anything that brings you closer to Allah, such as:

  • Reciting the Quran with focus
  • Remembering Allah with a present heart
  • Increasing your faith (Iman)
  • Having a devout spouse and offspring

May this dua bring you good provision and blessings!

6 Ways to Increase Provision (Rizq) in Islam

Islam teaches us ways to increase our provision, which we’ll outline below:

  1. Seek Forgiveness (Istighfar): Allah promises to increase wealth and children, and provide abundance in Surah Nuh (71:10-12).
  2. Uphold Ties of Kinship: Maintaining family relationships can increase provision and extend life, as stated by the Prophet (peace be upon him) in a hadith narrated by Al-Bukhari (2067) and Muslim (2557).
  3. Give Charity Generously: Allah will replace what you spend in charity and increase your provision, as mentioned in Surah Saba’ (34:39). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Charity does not decrease wealth” (Muslim, 2588).
  4. Fear Allah and Be Mindful: Allah will provide from unexpected sources for those who fear Him, as stated in Surah At-Talaq (65:2-3).
  5. Perform Hajj and Umrah Regularly: Following one with the other can remove poverty and sins, and an accepted Hajj brings a reward of Paradise (At-Tirmidhi, 810).
  6. Make Du’a (Supplication) The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us to ask Allah for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and accepted good deeds in a du’a narrated by Ibn Majah (925).
