Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) shared a story about the Prophet (peace be upon him) seeking protection for his grandsons, al-Hasan and al-Husayn. The Prophet said:
“Just like my father, Ibrahim, sought refuge with Allah for his sons Isma’il and Ishaq, I seek refuge for you both with the same words.”
This shows that the Prophet (peace be upon him) followed the example of his father, Ibrahim, in seeking protection for his loved ones.

He said: Abaan ibn ‘Uthmaan was afflicted with paralysis and the man who had heard this hadith from him started looking at him.
He said to him: Why are you looking at me? By Allah, I did not tell a lie about ‘Uthmaan and ‘Uthmaan did not tell a lie about the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). But the day which that (paralysis) befell me, I got angry and forgot to say them.

Meaning
Allah – there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
Abu Hurayrah said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) put me in charge of guarding the zakah (charity) of Ramadan. Someone came to me and started grabbing handfuls of the food.
I took hold of him and said, ‘I will take you to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).’ He said, ‘I will teach you some words by means of which Allah will benefit you.’ I said, ‘What are they?’
He said, ‘When you go to your bed, recite this ayah (interpretation of the meaning): “Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), Al-Hayyul-Qayyum (the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists)…” [2:255] – until he completed the ayah.
Then Allah appoint a guard for you who will stay with you and no shaytan (devil) will come near you until morning.’
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked me, ‘What did your prisoner do last night?’ I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, he taught me something, and claimed that Allah would benefit me by it.’
He said, ‘What was it?’ I said, ‘He taught me to recite Ayat al-Kursi when I go to bed, and said that no shaytan would come near me until morning, and that Allah would appoint a guard for me who would stay with me.’
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘He told you the truth, although he is an inveterate liar. That was the shaytan.’”(al-Bukhari)
7. Last two verses of Soorat al-Baqarah

Meaning
The Messenger [Muhammad (Peace be upon him)] believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and [so do] the believers. Each one believes in Allah, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. They say: “We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers” – and they say: “We hear, and we obey. [We seek] Your Forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return [of all]. Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. “Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.
It was narrated that Abu Mas’ood al-Badri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The last two verses of Soorat al-Baqarah, whoever recites them at night, they will be sufficient for him.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 4008; Muslim, 807.
Al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “With regard to the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ‘they will be sufficient for him,’ it was said that it means they will suffice instead of praying qiyaam al-layl; and it was said, they will suffice him against the Shaytaan, or against harm. It may be understood as meaning all of these things.’”
8. Reciting Soorat al-Ikhlaas, Soorat al-Falaq and Soorat al-Naas.
It was narrated from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) that he said: “Reciting Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad and al-Mi‘wadhatayn in the evening and in the morning will suffice you against everything.” Narrated by an-Nasaa’i and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani.
Without a doubt, if you continue to recite the adhkar (dhikr) for morning and evening, as well as the adhkar for going to sleep and other adhkars, you will be protected from the black magic, as it will act as a fortress for you, by Allah’s grace.
Eating seven dates in the morning, before eating or drinking anything else. It is narrated from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) that he said: “Whoever eats seven ‘ajwah dates in the morning every day, no poison or magic will harm him during that day.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari.
