Dua For Praising Allah

Here are some duas from the Quran and Sunnah to praise Allah in Arabic and English. Starting your duas with praise for Allah is highly recommended. Here’s a suggested order:

  1. Praise Allah
  2. Send blessings to the Prophet (ﷺ)
  3. Ask for what you need

Praising Allah means saying good things about Him and thanking Him for everything He does for us. It’s like showing gratitude for all His blessings.

People can praise Allah by praying, reading the Quran and being kind to others.

Praising Allah helps us feel close to Him and appreciate what we have. Try incorporating these duas into your daily duas to strengthen your connection with Allah.

1. Praises of Allah in Quran

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لَمۡ يَتَّخِذۡ وَلَدٗا وَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُۥ شَرِيكٞ فِي ٱلۡمُلۡكِ وَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُۥ وَلِيّٞ مِّنَ ٱلذُّلِّۖ وَكَبِّرۡهُ تَكۡبِيرَۢا

TransliterationAhamdu lillaahil lazee lam yattakhiz waladanw wa lam yakul lahoo shareekun fil mulki wa lam yakul lahoo waliyyum minaz zulli wa kabbirhu takbeeraa.

Meaning: Praise to Allah, who has not taken a son and has had no partner in [His] dominion and has no [need of a] protector out of weakness; and glorify Him with [great] glorification.

Surah Al-isra Ayat 111

Dua #2

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَىٰ عَبۡدِهِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَلَمۡ يَجۡعَل لَّهُۥ عِوَجَاۜ

TransliterationAlhamdu lillaahil lazeee anzala ‘alaa ‘abdihil kitaaba wa lam yaj’al lahoo ‘iwajaa.

Meaning: [All] praise is [due] to Allah, who has sent down upon His Servant the Book and has not made therein any deviance.

Surah Khahf verse 1

Dua #3

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَهُ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ ٱلۡخَبِيرُ

TransliterationAlhamdu lillaahil lazee lahoo maa fis samaawaati wa maa fil ardi wa lahul hamdu fil aakhirah; wa Huwal Hakeemul Khabeer.

Meaning: [All] praise is [due] to Allah, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and to Him belongs [all] praise in the Hereafter. And He is the Wise, the Acquainted.

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ فَاطِرِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَاعِلِ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ رُسُلًا أُوْلِيٓ أَجۡنِحَةٖ مَّثۡنَىٰ وَثُلَٰثَ وَرُبَٰعَۚ يَزِيدُ فِي ٱلۡخَلۡقِ مَا يَشَآءُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ

TransliterationAlhamdu lillaahi faatiris samaawaati wal ardi jaa’ilil malaaa’ikati rusulan uleee ajnihatim masnaa wa sulaasa wa rubaa’; yazeedu fil khalqi maa yashaaa’; innal laaha ‘alaa kulli shai’in Qadeer.

Meaning: [All] praise is [due] to Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, [who] made the angels messengers having wings, two or three or four. He increases in creation what He wills. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.

Surah Fatir Ayat 1

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ نُورُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ قَيَّامُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ مَلِكُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ حَقٌّ وَوَعْدُكَ حَقٌّ وَالْجَنَّةُ حَقٌّ وَالنَّارُ حَقٌّ وَالسَّاعَةُ حَقٌّ وَالنَّبِيُّونَ حَقٌّ وَمُحَمَّدٌ حَقٌّ لَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ‏ وَبِكَ خَاصَمْتُ وَإِلَيْكَ حَاكَمْتُ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ أَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ

TransliterationAllahumma lakal-hamd. Anta qaiyimus-samawati wal-ard wa man fihinna. Walakal-hamd, Laka mulkus-samawati wal-ard wa man fihinna. Walakal-hamd, anta nurus-samawati wal-ard. Walakalhamd, anta-l-haq wa wa’duka-l-haq, wa liqa’uka Haq, wa qualuka Haq, wal-jannatu Han wan-naru Haq wannabiyuna Haq. Wa Muhammadun, sallal-lahu’alaihi wasallam, Haq, was-sa’atu Haq. Allahumma aslamtu Laka wabika amantu, wa ‘Alaika tawakkaltu, wa ilaika anabtu wa bika khasamtu, wa ilaika hakamtu faghfir li ma qaddamtu wama akh-khartu wama as-rartu wama’a lantu, anta-l-muqaddim wa anta-l-mu akh-khir, la ilaha illa anta.

Meaning: O Allah! All the praises are for you, You are the Holder of the Heavens and the Earth, And whatever is in them. All the praises are for You; You have the possession of the Heavens and the Earth And whatever is in them. All the praises are for You; You are the Light of the Heavens and the Earth And all the praises are for You; You are the King of the Heavens and the Earth; And all the praises are for You; You are the Truth and Your Promise is the truth, And to meet You is true, Your Word is the truth And Paradise is true And Hell is true And all the Prophets (Peace be upon them) are true; And Muhammad is true, And the Day of Resurrection is true. O Allah ! I surrender (my will) to You; I believe in You and depend on You. And repent to You, And with Your help I argue (with my opponents, the non-believers) And I take You as a judge (to judge between us). Please forgive me my previous And future sins; And whatever I concealed or revealed And You are the One who make (some people) forward And (some) backward. اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّمَوَاتِ وَرَبَّ الأَرْضِ وَرَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ رَبَّنَا وَرَبَّ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ فَالِقَ الْحَبِّ وَالنَّوَى وَمُنْزِلَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَالإِنْجِيلِ وَالْفُرْقَانِ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ أَنْتَ آخِذٌ بِنَاصِيَتِهِ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الأَوَّلُ فَلَيْسَ قَبْلَكَ شَىْءٌ وَأَنْتَ الآخِرُ فَلَيْسَ بَعْدَكَ شَىْءٌ وَأَنْتَ الظَّاهِرُ فَلَيْسَ فَوْقَكَ شَىْءٌ وَأَنْتَ الْبَاطِنُ فَلَيْسَ دُونَكَ شَىْءٌ اقْضِ عَنَّا الدَّيْنَ وَأَغْنِنَا مِنَ الْفَقْرِ

Transliteration: Allahumma Rabb as-samawati wa Rabb al-ard wa Rabb al-‘arsh il-‘azim, Rabbana wa Rabba kulli shayin, Faliq al-habb wa’l-nawa wa munzil at-Tawrati wa’l-Injili wa’l-Furqan, a‘udhu bika min sharri kulli shayin anta akhidhun bi nasiyatihi. Allahumma anta al-awwalu fa laysa qablaka shayun, wa anta al-akhiru fa laysa ba’daka shayun, wa anta az-zahiru fa laysa fawqaka shayun wa anta al-batin fa laysa dunaka shayun. Iqdi ‘anna al-dayna wa aghnina min al-faqri.

Meaning: O Allah, Lord of the heavens, Lord of the earth and Lord of the mighty Throne, our Lord and Lord of all things, Splitter of the seed and the date stone, Revealer of the Tawrat (Torah), the Injil (Gospel) and the Furqan (Quran), I seek refuge in You from the evil of every creature that You seize by the forelock [i.e., have full control over them]. O Allah, You are the First and there is nothing before You; You are the Last and there is nothing after You. You are the Manifest (al-Zahir) and there is nothing above You; You are the Hidden (al-Batin) and there is nothing beyond You. Settle our debt and spare us from poverty).” He narrated that from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). Narrated by Muslim (2713).

اللَّهُمَّ مَالِكَ الْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِي الْمُلْكَ مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَتَنْزِعُ الْمُلْكَ مِمَّنْ تَشَاءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَنْ تَشَاءُ ۖ بِيَدِكَ الْخَيْرُ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ تُولِجُ اللَّيْلَ فِي النَّهَارِ وَتُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي اللَّيْلِ ۖ وَتُخْرِجُ الْحَيَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ الْمَيِّتَ مِنَ الْحَيِّ ۖ وَتَرْزُقُ مَنْ تَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ

Meaning: O Allah! Possessor of the kingdom, You give the kingdom to whom You will, and You take the kingdom from whom You will, and You endue with honour whom You will, and You humiliate whom You will. In Your Hand is the good. Verily, You are Able to do all things. You make the night to enter into the day, and You make the day to enter into the night, You bring the living out of the dead, and You bring the dead out of the living. And You give wealth and sustenance to whom You will, without limit (measure or account).

Dua #8

All praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds, The Extremely Merciful, The Especially Merciful, Master of the Day of Judgement. There is no god worthy of worship except You, You do what You will. You are Allah, there is no god worthy of worship except You. You are the Rich and Free of all needs whilst we are poor and in need of You. (Ibn Hibban)

Dua #9

All praise is for Allah who has sufficed me and given me refuge. All praise is for Allah who has fed me and given me drink. All praise is for Allah who has been gracious to me and showered favours on me. O Allah, I ask You by Your Glory to save me from the Hell-Fire. (Abu Dawood)

Dua #10

All praise is for Allah who feeds and is not fed. He favoured us, and thus guided us, blessed us with food and drink, and bestowed upon us every favour. All praise is for Allah, a praise which we will never bid farewell to, a never-ending praise, an accepted praise and an indispensable praise. All praise is for Allah who provided food and drink; who clothed us, guided us from error, removed our blindness and favoured us greatly over many of His creation. All praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds. (Nasa’i)

Dua #11

All praise is for Allah; praise which is abundant, pure, blessed and perpetual, as our Lord loves and is pleased with. (Nasa’i)

12. Dua For Glorifying Allah

سُبْحَانَ اللهِ العَظِيمِ وبِحَمْدِهِ

TransliterationSubhaanallaahil-‘Adheemi wa bihamdihi.

Meaning: Glorified is Allah the Most Great and praised is He.

سُبْحَانَ اللهِ، والحَمْدُ للهِ، وَ لاَ إِلَهَ إلاَّ اللهُ واللهُ أَكْبَرُ

TransliterationSubhaanallaahi, walhamdu lillaahi, wa laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu, wallaahu ‘Akbar.

Meaning: Glory is to Allah, and praise is to Allah, and there is none worthy of worship but Allah, and Allah is the Most Great.

There is no god worthy of worship except Allah, the One, the Supremely Powerful; Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is in between them, the All-Mighty, the Most Forgiving. (Ibn Hibban)

There is no god worthy of worship except Allah, The Forbearing, The Most Generous. There is no god worthy of worship except Allah, The Most High, The Magnificent. Allah is free from imperfection, Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the Magnificent Throne. All praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds. (Ahmad)

O Allah, Lord of the kingdom, You grant kingdom to whoever you will, and You take kingdom away from whoever You will. You honour whoever You will and You disgrace whoever You will. All good is in Your hands. You are All-Powerful over everything. The Extremely Merciful and The Especially Merciful in this world and the hereafter; You give from them (this world and the hereafter) whomsoever You will and You withhold from them whomsoever You will. Have mercy on me which will leave me free of the mercy of those other than You. (Tabarani)

O Allah, I beg You as all praise only belongs to You. There is no god worthy of worship except You, The Giver of all good, The Originator of the heavens and the earth. O Lord of Majesty and Honour, O the Ever Living, O the One who sustains and protects all that exists. (Tirmidhi)
