Allahumma Afini Fi Badani Dua Hadith

Narrated AbuBakrah: AbdurRahman ibn AbuBakrah said that he told his father: O my father! I hear you supplicating every morning:

“O Allah! Grant me health in my body. O Allah! Grant me good hearing. O Allah! Grant me good eyesight. There is no god but Thou.”

You repeat them three times in the morning and three times in the evening. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) using these words as a supplication and I like to follow his practice.

Sunan Abi Dawud

O Allah, grant me well-being in my body,” means asking for protection from sicknesses, diseases, and anything that could make it hard to worship and get closer to Allah.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to pray for good health instead of asking for sickness or trouble.

So, you should ask Allah to keep your hearing and sight healthy too: “O Allah, grant me well-being in my hearing. O Allah, grant me well-being in my sight.”

These two senses, hearing and sight, are super important because they let us learn and understand things, affecting how good or bad our hearts become.

When hearing and sight don’t work well, it’s tough to get all the benefits. If your hearing is weak, you might miss out on learning and doing good things, which can make life harder.

Then, you say: “There is no one to worship except You,” to show that Allah is the only God. After that, you ask Allah for protection, saying: “You are the One God, worthy of worship besides whom there is no other.”

You ask Allah to protect you from not believing in Him and from being poor. This is because disbelief leads to trouble in the afterlife, and being poor can make life tough here.

So, when you pray like this, you’re asking for Allah’s help and remembering that He’s the only one who can give it.
